AICTE Issues Notice, warns About Fake Websites

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has issued a notice informing the public that its official website address is aicte-india.org and warning them against fraudulent websites.

NEW DELHI: The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has issued an official notification indicating that its official url is aicte-india.org and warning the public about bogus urls circulating on the internet.

“It has been noted that several websites with similar appearing URLs like www.aicstd.com, www.aictetindia.org, etc. do not belong to AICTE,” according to an official notification from the AICTE.

Anyone using these websites for financial transactions or other purposes does so at their own risk, according to the AICTE statement.

In a social media post, AICTE said, “Public Notice regarding the official website of #AICTE with URL https://aicte-india.org.”

Individuals posing as AICTE officials and offering admissions under the Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme have recently been advised by the AICTE to students in the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh (PMSSS 2021-22).

“Any student who takes admission in any institution other than assigned colleges through online counselling procedure of PMSSS 2022-22 is not eligible for scholarship under the plan, and AICTE will not be accountable under any circumstances,” according to the notification.

Approximately 10,000 students from Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh applied in the first four days of the Special Scholarship Scheme’s registration.
