Attitude is everything – my dad used to tell me these words whenever I behaved like a loser after losing any game or any other sport.
As I grew older and matured, like many of us do, I realized that the words that my dad used to say were actually correct and true.
And, I also realized that those words were not just limited to sports but in LIFE as well.
Having the right attitude is important in all areas of life.
Go through the article to learn why that is, and a few important attitudes that are must-haves if you want to live a life with happiness, fulfillment, and success.

Why Your Attitude Is Crucial
“Control the controllable” – It’s a statement which makes every control freak shutter with disdain.
Fundamentally, what it’s saying is that we need to focus all our energy on controlling the things that we can actually control and not fret about those things that are out of our control.
And if we’re being truly honest, there aren’t too many things that we can control in life.
But, one thing that we can consistently control is our attitude.
And it’s very important that we do so. The reason why is because your attitude directly influences your actions.
And all of us know that it’s our actions that determine our success.
As the saying goes, “your attitude determines your altitude.”
Meaning that the type of attitude you approach your life with will remarkably impact the level of success you will or will not have.
Generally, when someone has an awful attitude, it negatively affects their action.
These are the naysayers, doubters, and negative people living in this world.
I haven’t heard of many of those types of people who are out there just killing it.
In fact, those are the people who, because of their own frustration from a deficit of results and success in their own lives, try to troll and tear down those who are trying to work for their own success.
On the other side, with a positive attitude and outlook, you’re much more likely to take the required action and get things done.
And, not only that, having a positive attitude helps you to be supportive of others and helpful to them in whatever it is that they are going through.
So, an additional benefit of a positive attitude is that you’re able to stimulate better relationships.
I don’t know of many millionaires or billionaires that go around with bad attitudes. In fact, it’s usually quite the contrasting.
They tend to have distinguished attitudes and outlooks in life, which helped them to create the success they’ve achieved.
Now that you know why your attitude is so important, let’s look at a few attitudes that you must-have in your life.
3 Attitudes You Must Have In Life
1. Attitude of Positivity
Let’s take a second to view your attitude as a pyramid – something which is systematically built over time.
At the bottom of the pyramid would be positivity. Positivity is the precondition for all of the other attitudes you need to have.
Positivity has an uninterrupted relationship with possibilities.
People who are negative tend to have a rooted mindset and are blocked off to all of the possibility that exists in life.
Negativity and a loser mindset go hand in hand.
Conversely, when someone has a positive point of view and attitude, they are much more likely to have a broadening mindset and are open to all the possibilities that exist within the world.
As I mentioned in the beginning, whether you have a positive attitude or not, will have an influence on the action you take.
When we take action and achieve the desired result, we further expand our minds to different prospects, which furthers our positivity.
And you’ll know why, in a few moment, that having a positive attitude is obligatory for you to be able to have the other two attitudes we’re going to talk about.
2. Attitude of Gratitude
In this social media community that we live in, where collation is a common trap to fall into, it’s very easy for someone to have a negative attitude.
Someone might feel annoyed that they didn’t get the “lucky breaks” that the people they follow online did.
Or, they may start to feel like a struggler, who’s powerless to control their own destiny and accomplish the results they desire in life.
And once someone reaches that point, that’s when the action becomes seemingly unfeasible, and people surrender on the pursuit of their goals, dreams, or aspirations.
This phenomenon is widespread in lower-income or disadvantaged societies.
Youngsters grow up not seeing any models of success in their immediate surroundings.
They are also fed limiting stories, from those near to them, about their incompetence to ever be able to create a great life for themselves.
So, they grow up with a predetermined mindset about their potential.
And those limiting stories, which frequently create their reality, leave them to feel glutted and like life isn’t unbiased.
All of that simultaneously puts them into a state of negativity, which consolidates their inability to create a better life for themselves.
If you’re not cautious, the comparison will rip your life apart. That’s why an attitude of gratitude is paramount.
It takes you out of focusing on things you don’t have (i.e. being clung in comparison mode and a negative attitude) and assists you to focus on all that you do have.
When we think about life from an energetic point of view, there’s nothing that elevates our vibration more than gratitude.
Focusing on purposely adding more gratitude into your life will be one of the most life-changing things you will do, and will positively influence all areas of your life.
3. Attitude of Greatness
One of the facts about having a righteous attitude is that it’s a matter of choice – you have to opt to have a good attitude.
Because of the requirement to survive experienced by our ancestors, our minds naturally have an inclination towards the negative.
It was a survival tool. And, although we don’t have to fret about a saber tooth tiger bouncing out of a bush anymore, our brains are still wired that way.
So we have to purposely choose to be positive.
Another thing that is an option in life, and something that will positively knock your life, is becoming exceptional at something.
If you take a step back and look at the correlation between a positive attitude and becoming exceptional at something, you’ll see that it’s a complimentary, two-way relationship.
Becoming exceptional at something will give you a boost in confidence, which will positively influence your attitude.
Looking at it the other way, it mostly takes having a positive attitude to want to become exceptional at something.
One important thing to add here is that you need to make sure that you’re chasing greatness at something that you actually relish and that fulfills you.
Otherwise, you won’t get that two-way satisfaction we just discussed.
I consistently did really well in school, but I didn’t relish it much, so I didn’t go into it with an exceptional attitude.
Imagine if any great athlete – going around with a bad attitude. They may be hyper-competitive, but they are likely to be positive people.
And that positivity unfurls them up to possibility, which deepens their drive to be exceptional.
As they continue to go after greatness, they become more confident, which further fuels their beliefs about possibilities.
And the rhythm continues. So, if you’re wrestling with a bad attitude, look out to become great at something and see if that doesn’t change.
Bottom Line
Your attitude is everything – don’t try to confront that truth.
Accept it, and allow it to guide you in purposely choosing the attitude you want to have on a daily basis.
Precisely, be sure to have attitudes of positivity, gratitude, and greatness.
Practicing that will allow you to experience a great life.
